About
As of Fall 2011, I am Assistant Professor and Chair of Philosophy at Siena Heights University. I earned a PhD in philosophy from Georgetown University and a Graduate Certificate in Cognitive Science from Rutgers University earlier in 2011.
I teach a wide range of historical and topical surveys as well as informal and formal logic and more focused studies of metaphysics, the philosophy of mind, and the philosophy of cognitive science.
You can find more about my teaching and research on my website: https://sites.google.com/site/virtualjeffengelhardt/
I live in Adrian, MI with my 4 year-old daughter, Madeleine, who is tall, wild, and hilarious. I like to read fiction--lately, especially the major authors of 20th and 21st century American fiction (e.g. David Foster Wallace, Don Delillo, Thomas Pynchon; Gaddis is yet to come)--and intellectual biographies. I listen to a lot of music, and I would really like to learn how to dance like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcN1i6Qcjxg.
